The LIME Foundation yesterday launched a week-long Web-Design Training programme for teachers from Primary Schools in the Corporate Area and instructors from the MultiCare Foundation.
The programme, which will also include instruction in the use of
Microsoft Excel and Word applications, is the first of what is intended
to be an annual event scheduled for the Easter school break.
Twenty participants, with varying levels of computer competence, form
the first cohort and they come from George Headley Primary, Mico
Practising, Seaview Gardens Primary, Chetolah Park Primary, Holy Family
Primary, St Aloysius Primary, Whitfield Town Primary, New Providence
Primary, and the MultiCare Foundation.
In a brief welcome at the beginning of yesterday's opening session, LIME
Foundation Chairman Errol Miller encouraged the participants to take
full advantage of the opportunity being offered, especially bearing in
mind how computer savvy some of their students already were.
He also urged them not to keep their newly acquired skills to
themselves, but to endeavour to incorporate them into their school
curriculum.
